Lieutenant Colonel Barron (née Goeman) graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and was commissioned via the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps.

After completion of The Basic School and Air Support Control Officer Course in 2004, Second Lieutenant Goeman reported to Marine Air Support Squadron (MASS) 1 in Cherry Point where she served as Training Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, and Air Support Company Commander.  She deployed to Iraq in 2005 as a Direct Air Support Center (DASC) Senior Air Director (SAD) for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 04-06.1.  In 2006 she deployed to Iraq with MASS-3 as an SAD and as an Air Support Element officer in charge for OIF 05-07.1.  In 2007 she completed the Weapons Tactics Instructor Course and deployed to Iraq as the MASS-1 DASC OIC during OIF 06-08.2.

From 2008-2011 Captain Goeman served in the Operations section of Marine Air Control Group (MACG) 48 in Great Lakes, Illinois.  During this tour, she completed Expeditionary Warfare School (distance education).

In 2011, Captain Goeman returned to MASS-1 in Cherry Point and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom 11.2 as the MASS-1 Detachment OIC.  Following the deployment, she served as the Assistant Operations Officer and Operations Officer.

In 2014 Major Goeman attended the Defense Language Institute French Course in Monterey, CA.  She concurrently completed Marine Corps Command and Staff (distance education) and a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from Pennsylvania State.  Major Goeman moved to Paris, France in 2015 as a student at French Command and Staff College.

Major Goeman reported to Marine Air Control Squadron (MACS) 1 in Yuma, Arizona in 2016 as the Operations Officer.  In 2017 she reported to Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron (VMX) 1 as the Command, Control, and Communications Department Head.  Lieutenant Colonel Barron was promoted to her present rank in October 2019 and commanded MACS-1 from May 2020 to June 2022.

Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four gold stars), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (one gold star).
