First Sergeant George Hernandez
First Sergeant Hernandez was born on 23 April 1978 in Durango, Mexico. First Sergeant Hernandez enlisted in the Marine Corps on 29 March 2000 and attended Recruit Training at MCRD San Diego, California.  Upon completion First Sergeant Hernandez received training at Marine Combat Training School (MCT), at Camp Pendleton. Following MCT, he reported to Supply School, Camp Johnson, North Carolina and upon graduating received the MOS of 3043.     In September 2000, First Sergeant Hernandez received orders to 1st FSSG, 1st Supply Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. He served as Supply Admin Chief, Platoon Sergeant, Corporal of the guard, and training chief for Headquarters Company.  While assigned to his unit First Sergeant Hernandez was promoted to the ranks of LCpl, Cpl, and Sgt Meritoriously. In December 2002, First Sergeant Hernandez was attached to Security Company, CSSG-15 were he served as squad leader for Operation Enduring Freedom I.    In August 2003, First Sergeant Hernandez reported to MSSG-11. While assigned to his unit he was assigned the billet of Administrative Chief, and Platoon Sergeant.  In July 2004, First Sergeant Hernandez deployed with MSSG-11 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom II.   In March 2005, First Sergeant Hernandez received orders to 4th Light Armor Reconnaissance Battalion, Inspector Instructor Staff. While assigned to his unit First Sergeant Hernandez served as Admin chief and Logistics chief. In February 2007, First Sergeant Hernandez was promoted to Staff Sergeant.   In January of 2008, First Sergeant Hernandez received Orders to Drill Instructor School 2-08, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon completing Drill Instructor School he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, Company E, were he served as Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor.    In June 2010, he was transferred to Instructor Staff, Drill Instructor School MCRD, San Diego, California. During this time First Sergeant Hernandez held the billets of Instructor and Chief Instructor.    In January 2011, First Sergeant Hernandez was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. In September 2011 First Sergeant Hernandez was selected as the Regimental Drill Master.     In June 2012, First Sergeant Hernandez received Orders to 1st MLG, CLR-15, 1st Supply Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. In September 2012 First Sergeant Hernandez deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 12.1, there he served as the operations chief for Combat Logistic Company.   During March 2014 First Sergeant Hernandez received orders to Marine Aviation Detachment China Lake; where he currently serves as the Detachment First Sergeant.   First Sergeant Hernandez’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal with 1 gold star in lieu of 2d award.
